No Profiles In Courage At ABC

I don’t think time spent watching the news on the teevee is well spent. There are better sources, and far more qualified analysts available through Substack and YouTube.

Some even argue that YouTube has supplanted ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS as the main source of news for many.

To compensate for my ignorance about the current team of talking heads, bobbleheads, and the occasional journalist at ABC, I took a quick dip in the AI pool. Perplexity produced this rundown of ABC’s top news personalities. I was curious because I haven’t heard a peep out of them since their colleague, Terry Moran, was canned for calling Stephen Miller a “world-class hater.”

Miller, whose resemblance to Nazi propaganda master Joseph Goebbels is proof that the Creator appreciates irony, is the guy who thought losing the children of detained immigrants would incentivize others to stay in whatever hellhole they were trying to escape. For a scathing examination of the role this loathsome character is playing in Los Angeles, check out Jeff Tiedrich’s Substack here: https://www.jefftiedrich.com/?r=1nrdui&utm_campaign=referrals-subscribe-page-share-screen&utm_medium=web

But let’s get back to ABC. Here, without further ado, are the network’s silent stars:

David Muir anchors "World News Tonight with David Muir," and co-anchors the news magazine "20/20." The recipient of multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards for his work, he was named one of TIME Magazine's 100 most influential people in 2025.

Robin Roberts is the longtime co-anchor of "Good Morning America.”  Before joining ABC in 2005 she was a sports anchor and ESPN broadcaster.

George Stephanopoulos is the other co-anchor of "Good Morning America" and the star of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." He joined the news personality business after a career as a Democratic Party advisor and Bill Clinton’s communications director.

Martha Raddatz is the network’s Chief Global Affairs Correspondent and co-anchor of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."

Linsey Davis anchors ABC News Live and weekend editions of "World News Tonight." She is also a correspondent for ABC News and the author of four children’s books.

Jonathan Karl is ABC News’ Chief Washington Correspondent and co-anchor of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." He is also the author of Front Row at the Trump Show (2020), which examined Donald Trump’s history of lying. “I fear President Trump’s war on truth may do lasting damage to American democracy,” he wrote.

He followed that with Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show (2021), which examined the extent to which Trump went to defy the results of the 2020 election. The New York Times review of the book concluded that it was “less insightful about the Trump White House and more revealing of Karl’s own gradual, extremely belated awareness that something in the White House might in fact be awry.”
